BT OpenReach Copper Cable
In all but Hull, OpenReach run the cable, but you can't deal with them direct, you use someone who provides a service over their network. If you are wanting a high quality reliable service with support people who understand and care about what they provide and will ensure you get the maximum the line can provide then Andrews & Arnold are the people to use. These copper connections have an asynchronous - much faster download speed than upload speed. Full speed FTTC is 80Mbs down and 20Mbs up.
Fibre
Fibre connections includes asynchronous connections from BT OpenReach and Virgin as well as synchronous (the same speed downloading as uploading) connections from many other Fibre providers. These can deliver speeds over 1000Mbs and prices can be comperable to copper.
If there isn't a Fibre connection running past your door you can have a Lease Line, these used to be just expensive, but due to the competition these have now dropped to around £300 per month for 100Mbs synchronous connection.
Mobile
You can get a mobile SIM and put that in a router and connect everything in your building using that. The speed of service depends on which mobile company you choose and if you go for a fixed amount our unlimited data package. Three is advertising itself as an alternative to having a broadband connection, providers can get funny if they discover a business is using their unlimited service.
Wireless
Before the advent of relativly cheep Satellite connections, in some rural areas some providers would setup a point-to-point Wi-Fi network providing coverage where the cable runs from the BT exchange where too long to allow more than a couple of Mbs.
Satellite
These used to be expensive and needed a carefully aligned dish, Starlink has change that. Starlink can provide you a 120Mbs-150Mbs download with 20Mbs upload on a self-aligning connection. As soon as you connect their kit with a clear view of the northern sky you are on line. The basic hardware is £299 with £75 per month ongoing cost.
